The Barney Allis Plaza was formerly a park located in Downtown Kansas City, Missouri at the intersection of 12th Street and Wyandotte. As of April 11, 2006, it is now the home of the Kansas City Explorers, Kansas City's World TeamTennis. The Explorers occupy their namesake tennis court, Explorers Stadium.
The Kansas City Sports Walk of Stars can be found on the edge of this park. The Walk was constructed in 1991, and the first three polished granite slabs bore the names of inductees George Brett, Len Dawson and Tom Watson.[3] The Walk is officially recognized by the city, and has used its common-law trademark since 1993.
The park is sandwiched in between the Municipal Auditorium and the Marriott Hotel, just down the road from the Library District. The Kansas City Convention Center is also located to the West of the plaza.

Kansas City, Missouri businessman. Barney Allis owned and operated the Muehlebach Hotel at 12th and Baltimore, originally built by George E. Muehlebach in 1916. He also lived in the hotel. In 1941 he purchased and reopened what was originally the Standard Theatre at 12th and Central. Designed by the prominent Kansas City architect Louis Singleton Curtiss, the theatre was rich in history. Performers Maude Adams, Richard Mansfield, Sarah Bernhardt, Al Jolson, Fannie Brice, Eddie Foy, and the Marx Brothers had appeared there in the early years. At one time Frank James was a ticket taker there. Renamed the Folly Theatre, performers such as Gypsy Rose Lee, Tempest Storm, Rose La Rose, Peaches Browning, and Miss Chesty Gabor appeared there. The theatre still stands, and is on the National Register of Historic Places. Today Barney Allis Plaza in downtown Kansas City, Missouri, is named in his honor.
